Who wants to have a skype goup convo tonight while watching Pokemon Smash again ?
Good evening everyone! Today’s Pokemon is Tangela!

I first encountered Tangela (outside of the anime) in FireRed on Treasure Beach (I didn’t bother to check that patch of grass on Route 21). I can’t say that I used it all that often, since by that point in the game I already had a strong grass type on my team. I remember liking it when I was watching the anime in Poland, but that was years ago.
That’s it for today’s Pokemon! Be sure to check in for tomorrow’s Pokemon of the day!
Good evening everyone! Today’s Pokemon is Bayleef!

I didn’t play any of the Johto games until I got HeartGold, but I do remember Ash’s Bayleef from the anime. I brought this up in an earlier post, but for some reason I like the 2nd stage of the grass starters the most. I don’t know what it is about their designs, but they just seem more interesting than their final evolutions. I It wouldn’t be weird if it were only for one or two, but I always prefer their second stage design over their final stage design.
Of course, I picked Chikorita in HeartGold, and I loved having it follow me around. They should really make it a standard feature, it’s just so cool having a little sprite of your pokemon follow you around. Then again, with X and Y coming up, we haven’t seen any evidence of it in the released footage, outside of riding a Gogoat. It’s not like I can hold it against them: it’d have to be a little 3d model, and that’s a LOT of data for what will probably be over 700 unique pokemon. If they switch to discs in the next DS generation, or if they improve the capacity on their cartridges however, maybe we’ll be able to have them follow us around again.
That’s it for today’s Pokemon! Be sure to check in for tomorrow’s Pokemon of the Day!
Special Eevee Edition 3DS XL releasing in Japan
Nintendo has officially revealed a special Eevee Edition 3DS XL due for release next month via Pokémon Centres across Japan.
Good evening everyone! Today’s Pokemon of the day is Celebi!

I didn’t know all that much about Celebi as a kid, since my first game was Ruby. I think my first introduction to the Pokemon was in Colosseum (Which I have not finished as of yet…. I should really get on that…). Celebi was always the legendary I would forget about, just because I never encountered it in one of the main games. I vaguely remember watching some episodes of the anime with the GS ball, but that’s all I can remember of Celebi up until I played Colosseum.
That’s it for today’s Pokemon! Be sure to check in for tomorrow’s Pokemon of the day!
Good evening everyone! Today’s Pokemon of the day is Shiftry!

I don’t believe I ever had a Shiftry, for the same reasons I didn’t have many other grass types on my team: I had already chosen the grass starter. However, if I were to make a starter-free team, Shiftry would be my second choice next to Breloom. Plus, their design is pretty neat as well, as they’re based off of the Japanese tengu. I also remember Sidney’s Shiftry to be annoying to deal with.

Hey there! Our second Pokemon of the Day is Paras!

I never usually gave Paras all that much thought when playing FireRed. It was usually just another Pokemon I caught to fill up my dex to get the items from oak’s assistants. I can’t particularly say I see myself ever using it in battle, but it’s their physiology, namely their mushrooms, that make it stand out in my mind
For those of you that don’t know, Paras has a semi-symbiotic relationship with the mushrooms that grow on their back. Paras provides the mushrooms with nutrients, while the mushrooms can release spores and can help the Paras defend itself.
However, the mushrooms are parasitic in nature, and they will eventually overtake the Paras’ body. That is when the Paras evolves into Parasect. The insect part now has no free will, and is completely controlled by the mushroom.

Hey there everyone! One of today’s Pokemon is Leafeon!

Aesthetically, Leafeon is my favorite eeveelution. Then again, are you really surprised, since the grass type is my favorite?
I remember back in Black and White, I did my first GTS trade (since our wifi has WPA security) for a Leafeon. The person wanted a level 30 Grimer, I believe. I was lucky enough to have transferred over most of my Pokemon from HeartGold, one of which included a level 22 Grimer. I believe it came from Japan as well.
That’s it for one of today’s Pokemon of the Day! Be sure to stay tuned for part 2!
